The Organizers

The annual Valley Girls Ride is presented by the Central Valley Cycling Charitable Association. The idea for the “all girls” ride was borne after some of us rode in the Cinderella Classic in March of 2005. The effort to hold such a ride in the central valley was spearheaded by our friend Marsha Sorensen. Shortly after a committee was formed to move forward with planning the ride, Marsha passed away after sustaining major injuries suffered in an accident. This ride is being held in her honor.

The purpose of the event is twofold: to promote women's cycling in the central valley and to raise funds for charity. This year our beneficiaries are the Spirit of Woman and the Central California Blood Bank. To that end, we have planned what we hope will be an enjoyable event for both experienced and novice cyclists.
